Common Transmission Spare Parts That You Can Buy Online

Transmission spare parts help to maintain the performance of mechanical systems. They help the system to operate smoothly, safely and efficiently. Whether you are looking to replace worn or damaged parts or are planning to buy transmission spare parts to keep in stock to ensure that they are available in case of a breakdown, here is a useful read.

Over here we discuss some of the common transmission spare parts that you can buy online:

1. Bearings:

Bearings are used in mechanical systems to reduce friction and enable smooth and efficient movement between moving parts. They are designed to support and guide movement ( rotary or linear ) between moving parts and can help reduce wear on mechanical components. There are different types of bearings designed for specific types of loads, movements and operating conditions. Bearings are used in a wide variety of industries such as automotive, aerospace, construction, agriculture and industrial manufacturing.

2. Hydraulic system:

Hydraulic systems use pressurised fluids to transfer energy and power mechanical devices. They can move heavier loads and provide greater force than mechanical systems. When it comes to durability, a hydraulic system can withstand high loads and adverse conditions.  Hydraulic systems are used in a wide range of applications such as construction equipment, industrial machinery and power generation equipment. Since hydraulic systems can be used to provide accurate control of movement and force, they are used in robotics.

3. Torque converter:

Torque converters are mainly used in automatic transmissions and are found in passenger cars, light trucks, heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment. Torque converters consist of a turbine, pump, stator and lockup clutch.

There are four main parts of a torque converter:

  • Pump: Pump also known as the impeller is attached to the flywheel of the engine, which allows it to rotate with the engine. The rotation creates a fluid flow in the torque converter, which in turn is used to transfer power from the engine to the transmission.
  • Turbine: It is attached to the input shaft of the transmission. When the fluid flow from the pump hits the blades of the turbine, it causes the turbine to rotate. When the turbine rotates faster, it transfers more power to the transmission.
  • Stator:  It is a stationary component that is located between the pump and the turbine. The stator redirects the fluid as it flows from the pump to the turbine. The stator has vanes that are designed to change the direction of the fluid, which in turn helps to increase the torque of the fluid flow.
  • Lockup clutch: It locks the impeller and turbine together. Though it is not present in all torque converters, it can be added to boost transmission efficiency.
